Bargetto Winery 2018 Merlot, Regan Vineyards, double magnum
Bargetto Winery's 2018 Merlot double magnum is from its Regan Vineyards Estate in Corralitos. Dark fruit dominates the nose, with aromas of plum, blueberry, blackberry, and black cherry. Layered on top of the fruit are lovely earthy and smoked meat notes. On the palate the fruit is ripe and rich, but not overripe or jammy. This full bodied Merlot will only get better with time, as its rich tannins continue to soften.

Four bottles of Aptos Vineyard's "Opening Remarks" Pinot Noir. Earthy beginnings with a fruit-driven finish. Santa Cruz Mountain gem, elegant Pinot Noir highlighting mountain qualities: sage, white cherry, raspberry, vivid ruby color, hard edges soften to velvet, deeper aromas. From a vineyard lined with oak and madrone, cultivated in oak, this wine encompasses its environment and boasts summer fruits.

Alfaro Trout Gulch Pinot Noir is ruby in color, with fruit-basket aromas and flavors of cherries, raspberries and strawberries. It has a silky texture with excellent acid and tannin balance.  A most versatile wine, it pairs well with salmon, chicken, game birds, most meats and mushroom dishes. Aged 10 months in 27% new French oak, 275 cases produced.

It's quite easy to drink yet rather intriguing with strawberry-raspberry juice and crushed herb notes of oregano and marjoram."
